Upper Glasgow Council Hosts Holiday Workshop on Waste and Recycling

During the recent school holidays, Upper Glasgow Council took an innovative step toward community engagement by hosting a workshop for primary school children focused on waste management and recycling. The initiative aimed to educate young residents about sustainable practices and the importance of reducing waste in everyday life.

The session was facilitated by dedicated employees from Upper Glasgow Council, who brought energy and expertise to the program. Through interactive activities and hands-on demonstrations, children learned how recycling works, why it matters, and what they can do at home to make a difference.

Feedback from participants and parents was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the Council for creating an educational yet fun experience during the break. The success of this workshop has inspired the Council to plan additional sessions in future school holidays, ensuring that sustainability remains a key focus for the next generation.

Looking ahead, Upper Glasgow Council is exploring opportunities to expand these workshops into other areas of local government, giving children a broader understanding of how councils serve their communities. From environmental initiatives to civic planning, the goal is to foster awareness and involvement from an early age.
